Isaiah 42:1-4

There have been other translations of the Holy Bible in Chuukese, to which the churches and Chuukese people have benefited greatly. However, this is the first translation of the Bible into the Chuukese language by a native Chuukese speaker. This is not another Holy Bible, this is simply a Chuukese translation of the Holy Bible by a native speaker of Chuuk to be an additional tool for people to be able to read, study and live according to God’s Word.

The goals of Pastor Kikuo Kanemoto (translator) and the Fellowship of Agapé Churches (publisher) in translating this Bible into Chuukese were to provide God’s Word in the language and vernacular that people could understand and effectively engage with it. By bringing cultural understanding into the translation process, those who speak Chuukese as their first language can read the words with a sense of familiarity and understanding.

Our aim has been to make this Bible as readable and understandable, as well as accurate as possible. It is also our desire that the Chuukese people would have the privilege of comparing and collating a few versions of the Bible during their study so that they can understand what God wants and says about their lives and his glory in all the world.

The Fellowship of Agapé Churches (FAC) has the intent and desire that this particular Chuukese Translation of the Holy Bible, in print, online, and any digital format or application, be made available to all Chuukese speakers and people throughout the world for both the edifying of the church and to build up the believer in the Scriptures for the glory of God in all the world.
